Single clubs linz
On 25 July 1908 the club was green-lighted by the Austro-Hungarian governor’s office, and the constituent formation meeting took place on 12 September 1908.
In October 1908 the team’s second match, their first ever in Linz, against the reserve team of Germania, ended 2-4 with both goals scored by Zwicker.
The Linzer Sport-Club soon benefited from the fact that several Austrian national players from Vienna who were performing their military service in the Territorial Army Infantry Regiment No.
This club was then soon renamed or LASK Linz, and began to focus mainly on football.
To this day, 1908 is regarded as the founding year of LASK Linz, in a nod to the football division’s roots in the Linzer Sport-Club.
